Peter Hess, Elder

Peter Hess is the preaching pastor at Christ Fellowship.  He spent much of his childhood in Hampton Roads, attending high school in the Oyster Point section of Newport News. He attended college at The Master’s College in Los Angeles, California and majored in biblical studies with an emphasis on biblical exposition. Following college, Peter moved to Washington, D.C. where he attended Capitol Hill Baptist Church (CHBC). There he met his lovely wife, Missy, and they were married in 2005.

After studying in CHBC’s ministry internship, the Hesses lived overseas for a few years before returning to the States so that they could pursue theological training at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. Peter graduated with a Masters of Divinity degree in 2013.

Peter comes to Christ Fellowship from southeast Kentucky where he had previously served for two and a half years as an associate pastor for youth and missions. Along the way, the Lord has blessed the Hesses with four beautiful children: Kate, Owen, Ryle, and Bryn. Peter’s desire is to see Christ Fellowship continue to grow into a healthy, grace-filled, disciple-making, local church.
